Indonesia's Mount Merapi Erupts, Sending Ash Plume Into Clouds

Indonesia’s Mount Merapi volcano erupted in Central Java on Wednesday, January 27, sending plumes of ash into a cloudy sky and lava down the hillside.

The BPPTKG, Indonesia’s geological agency, said the volcano released hot clouds more than 30 times on Wednesday.
