Indoor track roundup: Wachusett, Lunenburg girls claim titles; Westborough, Littleton boys earn wins

Girls' track

Division 2 District E Invitational: Ashlynn Witt took the 600 (1:40.71), Rahma Giwa won the 300 (43.09) and Abigail Lei claimed the 1,000 (3:23.71) as Wachusett cruised to the team title with 112 points at Fitchburg High.

Wachusett's Nyah Santana (55), Olivia Pickett (mile) and Lena Takahashi (2 mile) all finished second and teammate Claire Huck (55 hurdles) and Cassie Pingitore (high jump) each finished third.

Kate Larose, Santana, Huck and Giwa won the 4x220 relay (1:51.87), while Witt teamed with Anna Namiotka, Aila Head and Abby Martin to win the 4x440 relay (4:27.26) and Pickett and Takahashi teamed with Madison James and Marley Morini to win the 4x880 relay (10:59.58).

Emma Nadolski won the mile (5:36.26) to help Nipmuc finish second with 58 points and Tantasqua's Keoni Savoie won the 55 (7.57) and teammate Haley McCormack won the high jump (5-2) to help the Warriors place third with 45 points.

Westborough's Paige Estephan won the 2 mile (12:33.14), while Marlborough's Catherine Seay won the shot put (34-1).

Division 2 District E Invitational: Carli Stanford won the 300 (45.49), Abby Rodriquenz won the 1,000 (3:17.01), Lauren Long was tops in the 2 mile (12:45.66) and Sarah Viveiros won the shot put (33-0) to help Lunenburg cruise to the team title with 114.75 points at Fitchburg High.

Littleton's Prianka Sarathy won the 60 (1:46.76) to help the Tigers take second with 77 points. Sarathy also anchored Emma Follows, Amy Proulx and Giselle Kiernan to help Littleton win the 4x440 relay (4:31.04), while Charly Painter, Savannah Liles, Chabenta Bradshaw and Amelia Taylor led the Tigers to a win in the 4x220 relay (2:00.03).

David Prouty's Eliana Barnett won the 55 (7.7), whole Douglas's Ava Haire won the 55 hurdles (9.32), Bromfield's Evelyn Wool won the mile (5:36.34) and Gardner's Elaine Schaeffer won the high jump (5-0).

Wool teamed with Rosie Bradley, Molly Squire and Isabel Jackson to help Bromfield win the 4x880 relay (10:55.62).

MSTCA Last Chance Qualifier: Whitinsville Christian's Kira Simoncini won the 55 (7.41) and teammates Emily Dill (1,000). Avery Glidden (300) and Emma Wierenga (600) all took second in their respective events to lead the Crusaders at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Algonquin's Eilyna Hensen claimed the title in the high jump (5-2).

Leominster's Diamani Canuto was third in the high jump and Nashoba's Ella Rogers was third in the mile.

Boys' track

Division 1 District E Invitational: Alan Nguyen won the 55 hurdles (8.05), while Ben Verheijen (55), Vamsi Ankalu (600), Michael LeLacheur (1,000) and David Hilfinger (mile) all finished second to help Westborough edge Wachusett, 68.5-67.5 for the team title at Fitchburg High.

Hilfinger, Ankalu, LeLacheur and Brady Henderson won the 4x880 relay (9:18.82) for Westborough.

Wachusett's Tanner Glasier won the 600 (1:34.14), Dylan Brenn won the 1,000 (2:49.74) and Dillon Ryan took first in the 2 mile (11:12.21) to lead the Mountaineers. Brenn also teamed with Jacob Fassett, Quinton Brien and Dean Mills to win the 4x440 relay (4:00.11).

Fitchburg's Stephen Bate won the 55 (6.9), South's Prince Sonpon won the 300 (38.53), Tantasqua's Camden Foley claimed the mile (5:25.27), Groton-Dunstable's Dylan Pardis was tops in the shot put (45-9) and Grafton's Jackson Shea won the high jump (6-0).

Fitchburg's David Afogho, Josh Nartey, Ryan Tamfu and Connor Johnson won the 4z220 relay (1:45.90).

Division 2 District E Invitational: Littleton's Tyler Castillo won the 55 (6.8), Timothy Rank won the mile (4:54.36) and Bona Bradshaw claimed the 2 mile (10:31.59) to help the Tigers claim the team title with 102 points at Fitchburg High.

Littleton also topped the 4x220 relay, as Castillo anchored the unit along with Liam Gibbons, Charles Martin and Jiahuai Kang (1:45.12).

Lunenburg finished second with 73 points, as Tim Smith won the 300 (38.04) and Zach MacLure won the 600 (1:29.69). Smith and MacLure combined with Chris Roy and Connor Martin to win the 4x440 relay (3:51.42). Lunenburg's Lucas Pentedemos, Sean Whalen, Bryce Whalen and Cam Begley won the 4x880 relay (9:35.16).

Bromfield's Jack Stahl won the 1,000 (2:46.13) to help the Trojans take third with 41 points.

AMSA's Zachary Barton won the 55 hurdles (8.44) and teammate Michael Zuo won the shot put (46-3), while Douglas's Dominic Rossi won the high jump (5-8).

MSTCA Last Chance Qualifier: St. John's Emmanuel Mahoney won the 55 (6.65) and teamed with Max Davis, Francis Devaney and Lucas Carvalho to claim the 1,600 sprint medley relay (3:37.86) at the Reggie Lewis Center.

St. John's foursome of Ron Burton, Chris Senecal, Antonio Waife and Gavin Andrew also finished second in the 800 relay (1:35.75).

Nashoba's Adam Balewicz won the 2 mile (9:26.53) and Jax Christman, Jacob Sitt, Sawyer O'Riorden and Gabriel Merrow won the 1,600 relay (3:32.91). Merrow also finished third in the 300.

Shepherd Hill's Shawn Maple topped the field in the 300 (36.03) and Parker's Theo Puterbaugh took the shot put (56-4.50) and teammate Brandon Ciccolini was fourth in the 55 and fifth in the long jump.

Worcester Tech's Michael Gyimah was second in the 300 and he also anchored the Eagles' 1,600 relay team with Adam Amadou, Christian Agyekum and Cyprian Ojatabu to second (3:34.58).

Algonquin's Joseph Lamburn was third in the mile and Stephen White finished third in the 2 mile. Grafton's Aditya Kaki was third in the 55.
