It’s rare for a big production to not boast at least one recognisable name, but while taking a look at Industry’s credits is unlikely to make you tune in to the new series, the show itself is certainly good enough to keep you interested once you do.

The latest venture by Lena Dunham from HBO and BBC Two follows a group of graduates as they take on their first jobs at a fictional investment bank in London. Drugs, sex, and power struggles ensue.

You can read The Independent’s five-star review of Industry here.

So who makes up the show’s fresh-faced cast and where else have you seen them?

Myha’la Herrold as Harper Stern

Herrold leads the show’s ensemble cast as Harper, a recent graduate adjusting to London life after making the move from New York. The sharp and intelligent American inductee shines on the trading floor but it becomes quickly apparent that she has something to hide.

Industry is Herrold’s first major television role. The actor previously appeared in an episode of Amazon Prime’s Modern Love opposite Ozark’s Julia Garner.

Marisa Abela as Yasmin Kara-Hanani

Abela joins the cast as Yasmin, another grad working hard to stand out from the crowd. The actor has previously featured in Sky One’s drama series Cobra, which followed members of a fictional British government in the midst of a crisis. The 23-year-old is also set to star in Five Dates, a forthcoming choose-your-own-adventure romantic comedy designed for gaming consoles.

David Jonsson as Gus Sackey

Gus’s background as an Eton boy and Oxford scholar allows him to fit in well with the company’s elitist boys’ club culture. Jonsson is the Rada graduate who plays him. The actor has previously starred in ITV’s detective drama Endeavour, as well as the Joe Dempsie-led spy thriller series Deep State. Jonsson has also acted opposite David Tennant in a West End production of Don Juan in Soho.

Harry Lawtey as Robert Spearing

Spearing plays charismatic Harry, a “finance bro” through and through – or so he seems. Audiences soon discover that the character’s confident bravado masks his insecurities about coming from a working-class background. Lawtey made his acting debut in 2012 when he starred in an episode of CBBC’s Wizards vs Aliens. The actor has since enjoyed appearances in hit tv shows including Casualty, Marcella, and Netflix’s A Letter for the King.

Freya Mavor as Daria Greenock

For a series that has been routinely compared to Skins, it seems appropriate for there to be some crossover. Those who stuck with the British teen drama long enough will recognise Mavor as popular girl Mini McGuinness from the series’s fifth and sixth seasons. Now, all grown up, the actor stars as Vice President of the firm. The 27-year-old has also featured in The Keeper, New Worlds and The ABC Murders.

Nabhaan Rizwan as Hari Dhar

There’s a slightly better chance you’ll recognise Rizwan. The 23-year-old has appeared in a handful of films and shows before Industry, including the Oscar-nominated war movie 1917, Informer and the Riz Ahmed-led drama Mogul Mowgli. This time around, the actor will be portraying workaholic Hari Dhar.

Will Tudor as Theo Tuck

Tudor joins the cast as research analyst Theo Tuck, but eagle-eyed fans will recognise the 33-year-old from another of HBO’s hit series. Tudor famously portrayed Olyvar – one of Little Finger’s spies – in Game of Thrones. The English actor also starred in the teen show Shadowhunters.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes as Grey Grayson

Lloyd-Hughes is the second Skins alumni to star in Industry. The 32-year-old made his on-screen debut as Josh in two episodes of Skins in 2007. Since then he’s starred in the popular Divergent franchise opposite Shailene Woodley, as well as appearing in Me Before You and BBC’s War & Peace.

Industry returns on Tuesday 17 November at 9.15pm on BBC Two
