Indy 500 weather forecast: What to expect on race day 2023
If you're attending the 2023 Indianapolis 500, make sure to prepare for the heat. The National Weather Service is predicting temps hovering around 80 degrees on May 28.

Meteorologist Kacie Hoover said temps will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, it just depends on cloud coverage, which she's predicting will be partly to mostly cloudy.
Hoover said she's confident it will stay dry. A few isolated showers are expected east of Indianapolis, but she said there's "not a great chance" it will move toward the Speedway.

How to prepare for warm Indianapolis weather
To prepare for the heat, meteorologist Aaron Updike encourages racegoers and anyone spending time outside to take frequent breaks.
He said people should wear a hat and sunscreen to block the sun and drink lots of water. Consuming alcohol, he warns, will lead to quicker dehydration.

Indianapolis pollen count, allergy forecast
Plan to pack allergy relief before heading to the race track. On a 1-10 allergy index scale, Indianapolis is expected to be at 9 on race day, according to the Asthma and Allergy Network.
The pollen count in the Indianapolis area is tracking medium-high into the weekend, according to pollen.com, with Sunday levels reaching 7.7.
