Indy is friendly. Conde Nast Traveler readers vote city among the best
Indy, the friendly!
Indianapolis landed among the friendliest cities in the U.S. for Conde Nast Traveler readers.
The city came in fourth on the Readers’ Choice Awards, maybe helped by the dining scene.
Respondents to the 36th annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey were asked to take into account where folks felt welcome when traveling, the publication said.
“Did an outgoing local go out of their way to give you directions? Was the city easy to navigate? Did you simply get good vibes from the people around you?” it prompted.

“Since then, local chefs and restaurateurs have put their mark on everything from Asian street food to Italian classics,” the publication said. “Could it be that Indianapolis is friendly because it’s so well-fed?”
