Alexander Rossi earns his first IndyCar Series win in three years by taking the Gallagher Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Rossi, in his final season with Andretti Autosport, earns his 8th IndyCar victory but his first since 2019 at Road America. Rossi will head to Arrow McLaren SP in 2023.

Rookie Christian Lundgaard finishes as runner-up, by far his best in IndyCar. His other top-10s came at Toronto (8th), the GMR Grand Prix at Indy (9th) and Mid-Ohio (10th). It's the best finish for a Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing car in 2022.
"It sure feels like a birthday present," said Lundgaard, who turned 21 years old last weekend.
Will Power finishes 3rd and takes over the series points lead. Marcus Ericsson is in 2nd, 9 points behind.
"That was the goal from the beginning, to play the long game," Power said of the season-long race.
Colton Herta, who started 9th, suffered a mechanical issue with the lead and finished 24th. The biggest positive movers are Scott McLaughlin (15th to 4th) and Ericsson (25th to 11th). Pole-sitter Felix Rosenqvist finishes 9th.
