The IndyStar Wine & Food Experience set to return this fall. Here's what you need to know

Calling on all foodies, it's time to save the date: The full IndyStar Wine & Food Experience returns this fall.

The event, featuring culinary demos and wine seminars and spotlighting local restaurants, will take place Sept. 24 at Clay Terrace in Carmel.

The in-person event has been absent from the local food fest scene since 2019.

The 2020 fest, which was to be held at Carmel Civic Square, was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and subbed with a two-week virtual experience in October, in which diners were encouraged to visit participating restaurants for chances to win gift cards.

The 2021 event had been slated for September at Clay Terrace as part of the national USA Today Wine & Food Experience tour, but was canceled when the tour was scrapped due to a surge of the delta variant of COVID-19 and organizers encouraged support of committed restaurants through patronage of their takeout and delivery programs.

The 2022 tour, produced by the USA Today Network Ventures division of Gannett/USA Today, will hit nine cities, including Columbus, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky.
