"Oh, it's such a big moment for the team to get the Britannia race boat in the water after many months of design and build and I think 90,000 man hours of design and manufacture, so a huge commitment for everybody involved and a big relief to get the boat in the water on schedule. Now, of course excitement to get her out in the water and put her through her paces."

"We're all under a lot of pressure. I mean, I think just the amount of effort each individual in the team, the team as a collective and our backers have put into this. A huge amount of expectation of course, and 170 years of hurt. We've never won the America's Cup, the only sporting trophy Britain's never won. So of course, it's huge pressure and huge expectation, but I think as a sportsman that's what you want to be, you want to be in that environment, you want to be pushed to the limit. That's why we compete."

"Well, why are we here. We're here for the christening of American Magic's boat 2 'Patriot'. Today marks a great day in our programme, and really part of just the natural progression of any America's Cup team, and I think for our team in particular it's a culmination of roughly 80,000 man hours of work into boat 2 and the design, and build of that boat, and attach that to about 77,000 man hours of 'Defiant' and probably about 30,000 over 'Mule', and you've got a lot of boat building over the last three years and so it's great for the team to see. At any given time in one of these programmes, certain parts of the team have to shine, and today was a great moment for the production team and for the design team."

28. U.S. FLAG BEING RAISED ONTO PATRIOT'S MAST

STORY: British challengers INEOS Team UK unveiled their second-generation America's Cup yacht in Auckland on Saturday (October 17), just 24 hours after fellow challengers American Magic launched their second boat.

The British AC75 foiling monohull, named 'Britannia', had one significant difference from their first-generation boat, with the addition of a bustle keel.

The bustle is supposed to help reduce the resistance from waves and is designed to help lift the boat out of the water and then reduce air resistance when it is foiling.

Britannia's launch follows that of American Magic's 'Patriot' on Friday (October 16), but the New York Yacht Club syndicate had some issues in their first trials on Auckland's Hauraki Gulf.

After its christening, the yacht almost capsized as it attempted a gybe in about 20 knots before it slammed back into the water and came to an almost sudden stop.

Italian syndicate Luna Rossa are due to launch their second-generation yacht on Tuesday (October 20), with the teams having just two months of further trials before a regatta that also involves holders Team New Zealand in December.

The challenger series then runs from Jan. 15 to Feb. 22 next year before the America's Cup match against Team New Zealand begins on March 6.
