When babies are born, friends and family of the parents have likely taken care of their clothing needs.

The Players Championship is adding more to the wardrobe.

More than 500 babies born this week at First Coast Hospitals will receive a limited-edition onsie branded with the words "Island Baby," in reference to the Island Green at the 17th hole of the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

The parents of each baby receiving the onside also get a card with safe sleep practices, courtesy of The Players Center for Child Health at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

“It’s only fitting to extend a proper PLAYERS welcome to new partners and their newborns here in Northeast Florida,” said Jared Rice, executive director of The Players.

Babies born at the following facilities will receive the onsies: Ascension St. Vincent's Family Birth Place - Southside and Clay County locations; Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville; Baptist Medical Center South; Baptist Medical Center Beaches; Baptist Medical Center Clay; the Wolfson Children's Hospital NICUs at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center Clay; Flagler Hospital/Flagler Health+; HCA Florida Memorial Hospital and HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital; and UF Health Jacksonville.

The gift is part of The Players overall emphasis on families during the week of the tournament. Mothers and fathers are allowed to bring strollers, small diaper bags, plastic baby bottles, and other essential baby supplies are permitted to the tournament and the Family Lounge, presented by Wolfson Children’s Hospital, gives mothers a climate-controlled private area for nursing or to change babies.

The Lounge also serves as as comfort station for mothers, fathers and their children and will supply diapers or wipes free, if needed.

Two youth and children 15 years or younger are admitted free with each ticketed adult all week.

Practice rounds begin at The Players on Tuesday and the tournament begins on Thursday.
