Infant reported dead at local motel

Aug. 29—An infant child was pronounced dead at Cullman Regional hospital Monday after being reported unresponsive at the the Economy Inn.

According to Cullman police, parents of the four week-old child contacted emergency personnel at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday after the baby showed no signs of life. Responders transported the infant to the hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.

Cullman Police Sgt. Adam Clark said police are not speculating on the manner of the infant's death, nor whether foul play is suspected, until the conclusion of their investigation and the return of the results of an ordered autopsy.
