Inferno Food Festival coming Saturday

Oct. 7—WILLIMANTIC — A wide variety of cuisine will be sold during " Inferno Food Festival" at Jillson Square on Saturday. The event, which is being held by Eastside Food Festivals, runs from 12 p. m. to 6 p. m.

There is no entrance fee. American comfort food, barbeque and grilled cheese will be sold, as well as deep- fried snacks, ice cream desserts, Brazilian food, Puerto Rican food and Mexican food.

" This is just one of our two upcoming events," Eastside Food Festivals owner Tony Ferreira said in a press release. " We really want to draw out a crowd and enjoy some good food with good company at Jillson."

In keeping with the " Inferno" theme, all food trucks have been asked to feature two hot and spicy items.

" There are certain trucks that can't really do anything with that," Ferreira said, referring to the cupcake and ice cream trucks, for example.

In addition to the food trucks, a classic rock band from Southeastern Connecticut, " Styff Kitty," will perform on Saturday from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m.

There will also be bounce houses and crafts will be sold.

People are welcome to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs.

Eastside Food Festivals will also hold " Ozzfoodfest" on that property from 12 p. m. to 6 p. m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. There will be food trucks and an Ozzy Osbourne tribute band, " Ozzlands," will perform that day. Styff Kitty will perform from 12 p. m. to 2 p. m. and Ozzlands will perform from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. that day.

Free parking will be available at the parking garage on Walnut Street and on- site on Saturday.
