2 hospitalized, 1 seriously hurt, after crash involving school bus in Preble County
Two people were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries, after a crash involving a school bus in Preble County Friday morning.
Deputies and medics responded to the crash in the 12000 block of State Route 122 around 8:15 a.m. about three miles south of Gratis.

Captain Matt Lunsford with the Preble County Sheriff’s Office told News Center 7 the crash happened after a Dodge Cruiser traveling north went left of center, struck a school bus and then hit a pick-up truck traveling behind the bus.
The bus then went off of the side of the road and became disabled.

Preble Shawnee Local Schools Superintendent Todd Bowling confirmed that five elementary school students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Lunsford said none of the children were injured and the students on the bus were placed in another vehicle from the school district and reunited with parents on scene.
Medics transported the driver, James Singleton of Camden, to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown with serious injuries, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.
The passenger, Jessica Adams of Camden, was taken to Kettering Preble ER with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not hurt.
Mutual aid was provided by the Gratis Fire Department and EMS, as well as West Elkton Gratis Township Fire and Wayne Township Fire and EMS.
