Injury exits, high-scoring benches haunt fantasy players in Week 7
If there’s one thing fantasy players hate, it’s when they make the wrong lineup decision. When you start one guy and bench another, and you end up with no choice but to watch as the guy you started bombs, while the dude on the bench racks up points.
In fact, the only thing a fantasy player might hate more than making the wrong sit-start decision is when their star player(s) ends up leaving the game with an injury.
And that’s pretty much been the story of Week 7, as countless fantasy players dealt with injury exits as well as some high-scoring benches, kind of like this guy (Sorry, Jeff):
Left Edmunds on the bench. Lost Freeman to ejection. Lost Ryan , Fuller and Thielen to injury. Having a great Sunday. 😔

I really hope Taylor won, because he started some good players (Leonard Fournette, Hunter Henry, Josh Jacobs) but he left a combined 72.30 points in Chase Edmonds and Marvin Jones on the bench (also, judging by his emoji usage, not feeling too great) ...
Here’s a low for you. M. Jones AND C. Edmonds on my bench.....😭 pic.twitter.com/LFUNtIuNkz

Speaking of points on the bench, this next one is bad. And then you compound it with the fact of losing Patrick Mahomes to injury — on to next week, I guess:
leaving these points on the bench & getting pushed out of first place. (who knew i should have started cousins over mahomes?) pic.twitter.com/UifwPt2X4y

The Vikings put up 42 points in a high-scoring affair against the Lions. Pretty much every major offensive piece on Minnesota had a great fantasy day ... well ... except for Adam Thielen, who caught his lone reception for a touchdown, and then immediately left the game with an injury. Oh, what could’ve been ...

A microcosm of Sunday’s struggles is most clearly presented by the following screencap of this fantasy gamer’s team, in which a whopping THREE key players (Matt Ryan, Will Fuller, and Kerryon Johnson) all left their respective games with injuries:

But hey, it’s not all bad. Sometimes, your backups — the guys who would otherwise live on your bench — whom you’re forced to play due to bye weeks deliver in ways you could never expect:
C Edmonds, L Murray and MVS going insane for me the week all my regulars have the same bye week would be my highlight for sure.
