An injury has forced pianist Joyce Yang to withdraw from her scheduled performances of Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor during the Nov. 4-7 Sarasota Orchestra Masterworks concerts.

The Orchestra has announced that Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker, described by The New York Times as “an insightful, energetic soloist,” will perform in Yang’s place. Parker performed at the 2019 Sarasota Music Festival as a soloist with the Montrose Trio. In a statement he said that concert allowed him to experience “Sarasota’s astounding commitment to great music.”
