Inmate at Green Bay Correctional Institution dies from injuries in prison assault

ALLOUEZ - An inmate at the Green Bay Correctional Institution died at a Green Bay hospital Wednesday, five days after he was assaulted by another inmate in the facility, according to the state Department of Corrections.

The department identified the deceased inmate as Timothy Nabors, 25, of Milwaukee. He was convicted in April of second-degree assault of a child and sentenced to nine years in prison. Three other counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child were dismissed.

Authorities have not identified the suspect in the assault. They said the second inmate has been moved to a prison elsewhere in the state.

Since the assault, the prison has been on "modified movement" status. That means movement of inmates is limited to situations where the inmate must leave his cell to meet essential needs, according to DOC spokesman John Beard.
