Inmates Set Fires, Smash Windows at St Louis Justice Center

Inmates at the City of St Louis Justice Center broke windows, set fires, and threw debris to the ground in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 6.

Footage streamed live by Traci McDaniel shows inmates gathered at smashed window panes holding a long flaming object, which McDaniel said was a bed sheet. The protest continued into daylight hours with a growing group of spectators on Tucker Boulevard below.

Local reports said it was the third disturbance at the jail “in recent weeks.”
