Inside Impeachment: Will John Bolton be called to testify?

On Sunday night the New York Times reported that former national security adviser John Bolton’s forthcoming book provides a firsthand account of a conversation with President Trump that supports a key element of the impeachment case against him: that Trump directly ordered a freeze on aid to Ukraine until that country’s government launched investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Bolton, who declined to testify before the House, has previously said he would appear if subpoenaed by the Senate — and now it looks more likely than ever that he will be called to do so.
