Inside Jennifer Lopez’s Over-the-Top 50th Birthday Party on Miami Beach’s Star Island

The music superstar reportedly hosted her lavish bash at Gloria Estefan’s waterfront mansion

Jennifer Lopez rang in her 50th birthday in pure J.Lo style, with an entire posse of A-list friends, plenty of lavish decor, and star-studded entertainment—all at a beautiful location. The “Medicine” singer reportedly hosted her over-the-top fête at Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Star Island mansion, with a large portion of the evening’s festivities taking place in the property’s backyard overlooking the water.

“There are multiple tents and the decor is modern with a lot of white and gold,” a source told E! News, adding that big gold balls, a gold bar, and lounge furniture adorned the outdoor space. Photos from the bash also show a giant golden archway with the J.LO emblem emblazoned across the top welcoming guests to the party. Inside, the mansion and backyard were decorated with hundreds of candles, fairy lights, and white orchids, with a giant disco ball above the dance floor. A tower of champagne glasses also greeted guests, as well as big spinning letters that spelled out "J.LO." Someone reportedly even gifted Lopez an enormous portrait of herself made entirely of glittery gold-hued materials, which complemented the decor.

One of the highlights was undoubtedly Lopez’s massive six-foot-tall birthday cake, which included 10 tiers of vanilla rum cake with dulce de leche filling, covered in a black icing with a 24-karat edible gold design, plus her name and the number “50” spelled out in Swarovski crystals. Other delights included 14-carat-gold-flaked Mojo donuts that also said “JLo” on them; guests like DJ Khaled, Ashanti, Fat Joe, and Ryan Seacrest also sipped Moet champagne, noshed on Sasanian caviar and Ruth's Chris steaks, and enjoyed cigars in the Padron Cigars lounge, reports the Miami Herald.

Entertainment for the night included performances by Lopez’s young twins, Emme and Max, plus Ashanti, DJ Khaled, and DJ Cassidy, as well as the singer herself, who sang a few of her hits for her gathered friends and family. Fireworks were set off over the water later in the evening, with Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez cuddling up under the stars to watch. The Miami Herald reports that the festivities finally wrapped up around 3 a.m., but only after Lopez engaged in some enthusiastic hair swinging to the beat of Fat Joe’s “All the Way Up.”
