Insider picks to close out DFW Restaurant Week: $39 deals in Fort Worth, Arlington

Two new Arlington-area restaurants and one older Fort Worth favorite are among restaurants still offering $39 dinner specials with appetizer and dessert as DFW Restaurant Week ends Sept. 3.

They’re among a total of 20 local restaurants offering lunch, brunch or dinner specials and donating from $5 to $20 of each dinner to a Fort Worth-based children’s agency as part of the annual regional summer business promotion.

One of the Arlington-area restaurants offering $39 three-course dinners — the least expensive and best bargain — is Zack’s Bistro, 900 E, Copeland Road (Interstate 30 at North Collins Street). Of the $39, $7 is donated to Lena Pope.

Zack’s is the work of Zack Moutaouakil, also the operator of the Keller Chophouse and Mercury Chophouse restaurants.

Zack’s three courses include a choice of prime filet medallions, blackened chicken pasta, a pork chop or spicy salmon “dynamite,” plus a chopped or Caesar salad and cheesecake or tiramisu.

The cousin Keller Chophouse, 124 S. Main St., Keller, is serving a similar $49 special.

Zack’s is also drawing Viridian neighborhood residents at lunch for specials such as stroganoff or a smoked-bacon Roquefort patty melt, Moutaouakil said.

The other Arlington-area restaurants offering the best $39 dinner value are:

The Finch, in EpicCentral at 2955 S. Texas 161, Grand Prairie, serving a choice of pasta or roast chicken with appetizer and dessert;

Or the Home Plate Restaurant at Texas Rangers Golf Club, 701 Brown Blvd., with a choice of flatiron carne asada, lobster risotto or pork tenderloin.

The Home Plate’s desserts are notable: chocolate-chip bread pudding, dark chocolate pot de creme or strawberry shortcake.

For a nicer night out in Arlington, Cut & Bourbon at the Loews is offering a $99 deluxe prime strip dinner special and donating $20 to Lena Pope.
