Insiders who bought stock earlier this year lose -US$163k as EZFill Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:EZFL) drops to US$11m

Insiders who acquired US$197k worth of EZFill Holdings Inc.'s (NASDAQ:EZFL) stock at an average price of US$2.46 in the past 12 months may be dismayed by the recent 12% price decline. This is not good as insiders invest based on expectations that their money will appreciate over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their original investment is now worth only US$34k.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

EZFill Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Director Jack Levine for US$108k worth of shares, at about US$2.71 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$0.43 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
