A mum has stripped down to her underwear and recreated Kendall Jenner’s famous #mycalvins ad to show just how beautiful stretch marks can be.

Brenda DeRouen, a 26-year-old mum from Texas, posed in her bra and knickers for photographer Deun Ivory - who posted the candid snapshot on Instagram for the world to be inspired by.

Like the majority of mums, DeRouen developed stretch marks when she was pregnant with her son and despite applying every kind of recommended oil and butter to prevent the lines appearing, she still developed them across her bump - something that she found incredibly upsetting and struggled to come to terms with.

After giving birth, she tried a number of exercises and treatments to reduce the marks but despite developing a “four out of six-pack” the lines stayed put.

It’s taken DeRouen eight years to learn to love her stretch marks - and since coming to terms with them and accepting them she decided to share her revelation with the world by stripping off in front of a camera and showing everyone her stomach.

“You are beautiful,” the mum wrote on her blog. “Every scar and every imperfection, has a story that makes you uniquely you. Sexy, near naked, and provocative pictures floor our news feeds daily. They make other women who don’t look the same feel inadequate.

“Well, here’s to a different kind of provocative for your feed. Enjoy!”

The mum also took to her Instagram account to share an image from the shoot. “Hello body, I haven’t appreciate you much lately,” she captioned the image. “I haven’t acknowledged your beauty and your marvelous wonder.

“I am proud of you. For all that you have endured. For all that you have overcome, and for continuing to keep me strong and alive. I love you. And just like any other body you are worthy of appreciation, flaws and all.”

DeRouen’s bravery has prompted numerous women to applaud her body-positive message.

‘Such an inspiration,” commented one person. “I’ve been super self conscious about my stomach, you give me the courage to love my body just the way it is.”

Another agreed, writing, “Omg so beautiful. Helps me love my body again thank you (sic).”
