Meta, the operator of the two social media platforms, said the feature is available to users in countries where NFTs are available on Instagram.
Meta trialed digital collectibles on Instagram with a select group of creators in May before expanding to 100 countries in August.
Meta said users can tag the collectors and creators of the digital collectibles and are not required to pay fees for posting or sharing NFTs.
Users can unlock the feature by connecting a supported digital asset wallet to their social media accounts.
Facebook had 2.93 billion monthly active users as of the second quarter of this year, according to Meta, while Instagram reportedly crossed the 2 billion users mark in December 2021.
