Does my bum look big in this? Kerri stands defiant against body shamers [Photo: Instagram/beachyogagirl]

She has over a million followers on Instagram and regularly posts pictures of her body being twisted into incredibly complex positions, but even yogi Kerri Verra couldn’t escape the cruel taunts of an internet troll who said her bottom was ‘too big’ to wear white shorts.

Proving she’s just as sensitive to body-shaming as anyone else, Kerri quickly deleted the photo and vowed to never wear white again. And then? Well then she had a change of heart and decided to stand up to the body bully who’d made her doubt her own self-worth.

Posting an unapologetic photo of her bottom clad in the ‘offensive’ white shorts once again, she added an empowering caption that told the shamer in no uncertain terms that they wouldn’t succeed in bursting her body confidence.

“Let’s talk about body shaming for a moment,” she wrote. “Last time I wore white someone commented what a large a$$ I had and that I shouldn’t wear white. Even though I’m totally happy with my body and completely self confident with my body image, I will say on that particular day I wasn’t feeling my best.”

“I immediately deleted the photo and began to look closely at all my photos. Not that I thought I was “fat” but I began to question wearing white and if it “made me look fat”.

“After a good night sleep, I woke up the next day wondering WHY IN THE WORLD did I let some random internet “troll” bother me so much as to actually delete a photo!! You see, these photos are for me and no one else. I love fashion, photography, puppies, yoga, fitness, and the beach. They ARE all FOR ME and I’m quite happy with who I AM. If someone is inspired by me that makes it even better.

Kerri has an important message for body shamers [Photo: Instagram/beachyogagirl]

“So, if you think my butt is too big to wear white or you think white makes my butt looks too big in this photo and you want to tell me … 1. You are a troll. And 2. Thank you for your opinion but I didn’t ask and I don’t care. #sorrynotsorry

“Women OF ALL SIZES need to LOVE their bodies and wear white shorts if you want to! If you like it, wear it … NEVER let anyone’s opinion make you feel bad or shameful about your body. It’s just a shell … It doesn’t define you.”

Wonder if Kerri’s troll can do this? [Photo: Instagram/beachyogagirl]

Kerri’s finger flick to the shamer has been liked 8,420 times and has received a slew of comments from fans praising her body positive message.

One follower wrote: “I just read about what had been said to you. Ridiculous! Enough of the negativity. We need to support and love one another. Bravo for how you handled it.”

Another added: “You can tell who the strong women are. They are the ones who are building each other up, rather than tearing each other down.”

Another added her own body-confidence message: “When people are hurtful and negative always know that the problem is with THEM not you! So many people love to hate - it’s unfortunate. Rock those white shorts with confidence!!!!”

Take that trolls!
