Instructors needed for free water safety lessons
Jul. 7—The Rochester Swim Club is in need of volunteers.
The organization is looking for swim instructors, lifeguards, master swimmers and other volunteers to teach water safety lessons at Silver Lake Pool.
The classes are for members of the Boys & Girls Club and are free for all ages. In addition to the lessons, participants will receive swimsuits and goggles.
The program is funded by the Aquatics Participation and Safety Fund, started earlier this year by Rochester Swimming Inc. and Let Them Swim. The goal of the organizations is to remove the barriers to access and participation in swimming, as well as teach safety.
