The daughter of the trailblazing second-baseman who broke baseball’s color barrier is calling foul on a campaign ad using Jackie Robinson’s likeness to reelect the president.

“Jackie Robinson’s family strongly objects to the use of Jackie Robinson’s image in a Donald Trump,” Sharon Robinson wrote on Twitter. “The Trump campaign is in opposition to all that Jackie Robinson stood for and believed in."

According to the 70-year-old sports icon’s only daughter, the 45th president’s politics are an insult to number 42 1/4 u2032s legacy

"We’re insulted and demand that his image be removed!” she wrote.

The ad in question is called “Say What You Will About America” and is on the president’s YouTube page. It’s message is that no one should bet against this nation while it struggles to overcome a shattered economy and deadly pandemic. Among other things, the latter delayed the start of the baseball season and continues making games too dangerous for fans to attend.

Trump’s ad also features images of Martin Luther King Jr., a burning store, a burning American flag and the president at a campaign rally. The Jackie Robinson Foundation could not immediately be reached with regards to who owns the Jackie Robinson photo in the commercial.

Robinson, who died in 1972, forever changed America’s past-time when he took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 as a first baseman. He left the game in 1956 after winning Rookie of the Year, being named a six-time All-Star, and leading his team to the 1955 World Series championship. His number was retired by every major league baseball team in 1997 and is worn only once a year — by every player in the league — on Jackie Robinson Day in April.
