Inter Miami CF’s first preseason scrimmage versus Miami FC scheduled for Saturday at Inter Miami’s training facility in Fort Laudredale has been postponed due to club personnel testing positive for COVID-19, Miami FC announced on Friday.

Miami FC, which plays in the USL Championship, didn’t say which club had the lone positive COVID-19 test.

The club added in a statement that a “rescheduled date for the postponed scrimmage will be announced when available.”

Inter Miami have been practicing in Fort Lauderdale for the past two weeks. They’ll travel throughout Florida for a week starting next Friday for training and closed-door friendlies starting versus the Tampa Bay Rowdies — another USL Championship team — on March 27 at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg.

Inter Miami will play three more closed-door matches at IMG Academy in Bradenton: versus the Charleston Battery — a USL Championship team — on March 30, the New York Red Bulls (April 3) and Nashville SC (April 3).

They’re scheduled to return to South Florida for the final two weeks of preseason ahead of their home opener versus the LA Galaxy on April 18 at Inter Miami CF Stadium.

Inter Miami will host a final preseason match the weekend of April 10. The details for the final friendly, and whether it’ll be open to fans, will be announced at a later date.
