These interactive graphs show house prices on the rise around Kansas City
Data from real estate giant Zillow shows single-family home prices on the rise in the Kansas City area over the past three years. Both on the Kansas and Missouri sides of the city, home prices have been increasing steadily.
Kansas City, Missouri: Median single-family home sale prices have increased by 38.9% since January of 2018. The current median sale price is $256,316.
Kansas City, Kansas: Median single-family home sale prices have increased by 48.1% since January of 2018. The current median sale price is $160,552.
The graphs below show how each metro area compares to the cities around it.
The above graph shows median home sale prices in the Missouri cities of Kansas City, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Liberty, Gladstone and Grandview over the past three years. While the prices trend steadily upward over that time, the past 14-16 months display a slightly steeper increase than in years prior.
The above graph shows median home sale prices in the Kansas cities of Kansas City, Shawnee, Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa and Mission. Aside from a small drop in Kansas City, Kansas between October and November of 2019, median sale prices have been rising steadily for the past three years. Similarly to Missouri, the past 14-16 months display a slightly steeper increase than in years prior.
