Texas has seen more than 9,700 tornadoes since 1950. Interactive map shows when and where

Since 1950, there have been more than 9,700 tornadoes in Texas, killing hundreds and leaving behind billions of dollars worth of damage.

On March 21, 2022, a tornado tore through Round Rock, hitting more than 680 homes and causing $32 million in damage. It reached wind speeds of 135 mph and completely wiped out 13 homes. Residents were still dealing with the aftermath of the tornadoes a year later.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has been tracking tornadoes for decades.
