Interactive map shows Triangle’s most competitive real estate ZIP codes

Looking to purchase a home this spring? This new interactive map could show you where there might be some relative bargains to be had.

While a recent report from Rocket Homes shows Raleigh and Durham are still “sellers’ markets,” that is slowly shifting. Properties are staying listed for longer, say experts, and inventory is creeping up, driving more competition.

The interactive map below shows where homes in the Triangle region sell for above and below the listing prices, a key metric for homebuyers seeking out deals.

The data, compiled by Redfin, shows most ZIP codes across the Triangle saw homes selling anywhere from 1% to 2% under the listing price in February.

The ZIP code where the selling averages the most under was 27709, in Durham. There average sale price there was roughly 6.5% lower than the listing price. Other communities where homes are selling below the listing price include ZIP codes 27610 and 27617 (Raleigh), 27604 (Knightdale), and 27529 (Garner).

The most competitive ZIP codes, 27516 and 27510, were found in Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Homes sold there for 0.09% and .48% above the list price, respectively.
