Jon Foster’s new role at HCA Healthcare Inc. comes with a bigger paycheck. Foster’s base salary was increased from $918,596 to $1 million after being named chief operating officer of the Nashville-based hospital operator, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Foster’s biggest pay bump comes in the form of long-term equity awards, which have a total target value of $3.75 million — 50% of which are in the form of HCA stock that will vest over four years and 50% in the form of performance shares that vest upon achievement of a three-year earnings-per-share goal, according to the filing.

Why 3M Shares Fell Today
Shares of industrial conglomerate 3M (NYSE: MMM) were trading down by 2.6% as of 2:03 p.m. ET Friday. According to the Financial Times, Bert Flossbach, the asset manager's co-founder, wrote to 3M's management to express his increasing concern about how the company is being run.
