International Flavors: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $67.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 57 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, came to $1.32 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.19 per share.

The ingredients producer for food, cosmetics and consumer products industries posted revenue of $1.27 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $363.2 million, or $3.21 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.08 billion.

International Flavors shares have risen 25% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has risen 4%. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $135.57, a drop of 2.5% in the last 12 months.
