Coroner called to Interstate 81N crash

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lackawanna County Coroner and additional units were called to Interstate 81 Northbound after a reported multi-vehicle crash.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says I-81 Northbound was closed at mile marker 199.6 in Scott Township, Lackawanna County after a multi-vehicle crash.

PennDOT restores speed limit on all roadways

Officials did confirm with 28/22 News there were reported injuries and the Lackawanna County Coroner was called to the scene. Pennsylvania State Police were also called to the scene.

Officials had cleared the scene at about 8:30 p.m. and the roadway has since reopened.
