HIGHLAND BEACH — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission continues to investigate a boating crash that killed a 63-year-old man Saturday.

The operator of the vessel, Richard Patrick Mineo, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children were injured and taken to Delray Medical Center.

Investigators said the boat was a 25-foot center console vessel with three people aboard. It was headed northbound on the Intracoastal Waterway in Highland Beach at about 2:15 p.m.

Officials said the boat encountered a wake and lost control, hitting a dock near 3310 Ocean Drive.

The conditions of the children are unknown.

Delray Beach police, Highland Beach police and Boca Raton police marine units responded to the scene. FWC is the lead investigating agency investigating the crash.
