BROOKE SHAFER: Associate of embattled Congressman Matt Gaetz is expected to take a plea deal next month in a federal investigation involving child sex trafficking. The New York Times reports that case is what led to the federal investigation of Gaetz. Today's news comes hours after CBS News reported investigators are looking into a trip to the Bahamas Gaetz took with a donor.

Sources tell CBS News the Congressman traveled in 2018 or early 2019 with an Orlando hand surgeon and marijuana entrepreneur. That man allegedly paid for all of the travel expenses, accommodations, and several female escorts. So investigators want to know if the women were illegally trafficked for the trip and if Gaetz was accepting paid escorts in exchange for political access or favors. The Congressman has denied the allegations. Meantime, he is scheduled to speak at an event in [INAUDIBLE] this weekend.
