Invisible Children's Next Video Will Target Critics, Not Kony

The filmmakers behind the KONY 2012 campaign and its over 73 million views will address a different topic in a new video Monday: The mounting criticisms that Invisible Children is facing. In a way it sort of makes sense to attempt to quash the critiques in viral video since Invisible Children has mastered viral marketing. It also might mean that the group's initial response to its critics, which appeared on its website last week, went largely unheard thanks in part to its hard to read infographic.

Criticism for the group, which some are referring to as "slacktivists," stems from the claim that Invisible Children spends more on filmmaking and promotion than directly helping fight Joseph Kony. CNN reports that the charity will release a new video Monday that responds directly to critics. "There's nothing to hide -- Invisible Children has been transparent since 2004, when we started," Ben Keesey, the group's chief executive, said in an interview on CNN Sunday night. "That's our intention and we want to show that this campaign is part of a model and strategy that's comprehensive."
