Involuntarily alone on Valentine’s Day? A Florida sheriff’s office offers solace

Valentine’s Day can be a difficult holiday for some. The chocolate, flowers and balloons can become nearly toxic for people who are alone and don’t want to be. Luckily, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office found a way to spread some V-Day cheer.

The agency wired a traffic message board aimed at drivers who need an extra hug on Cupid’s day.

“No Valentine?” the sign read. “Your seatbelt will hold you.”

Pictures of the sign, which can be found at U.S. 41 and Thomasson Drive, were posted on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page. The caption reminded drivers to “give yourself a life-saving hug.”

So this Valentine’s Day, try some seatbelt love. Who knows? It just might do the trick.

If not, don’t worry. Feb. 15 will be here sooner than you think.
