A Wichita County grand jury handed down an indictment against Michael Lama in February 2022 and Lama pleaded guilty Friday in 30th District Court.

Lama was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old in February 2021.

The child told a forensic interviewer at Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center that they would regularly skip school to drink alcohol and go to the casino with Lama and another adult, according to allegations in an affidavit for arrest warrant.

The child was with him at the casino on the day he won a jackpot over $1,300, according to allegations.

After Lama won the jackpot, the Clay County child went to a hotel in Wichita Falls with him where the incident occurred, according to allegations.

Lama could have been sentenced up to 20 years in prison. He gets credit for 306 days already served in jail.
