Iowa State football has added a second skill-position transfer to the 2023 recruiting class.

Receiver Jayden Higgins, formerly of Eastern Kentucky, is transferring to a program that lost top receiver Xavier Hutchinson to graduation and significant backup Sean Shaw Jr. to the transfer portal.

Higgins, a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder, joins Iowa State as a junior. In two seasons for the Colonels, Higgins had 87 receptions for 1,151 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In 2022, the Florida native caught 58 passes for 757 yards and 10 touchdowns for a team that ranked third nationally in FCS passing.

The other Iowa State transfer to an offense that ranked last in most Big 12 statistical categories last season is running back Arlen Harris, who came to the Cyclones from Stanford.

Iowa State’s other transfer eligible for 2023 is former Missouri linebacker Zach Lovett.
