Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell has a third assistant coaching vacancy.

Caponi joined Campbell’s staff in 2019 after coaching three seasons at West Virginia and three at Arizona.

At North Texas, Caponi will join the staff of new head coach Eric Morris.

Campbell already has replaced offensive coordinator Tom Manning, with Nate Scheelhaase. There are openings for an offensive line coach, a quarterback coach, and now for the position Caponi is leaving.
