Iowa State men's basketball player Eli King is entering the transfer portal. A source close to the program confirmed to the Register what the VerbalCommits website initially reported.

King, a freshman scholarship reserve, scored 11 points while averaging 3.4 minutes in nine games.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Caledonia, Minnesota, came to the Cyclones as a three-star prospect, according to the 247sports recruiting website. He chose Iowa State over offers from Iowa, Marquette, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Iowa and Stanford.

Four seniors wrapped up their careers following last Friday’s loss against Pittsburgh in the NCAA Tournament. Four newcomer freshmen signed letters of intent. Six players have eligibility remaining – Tamin Lipsey, Jeremiah Williams, Tre King, Demarion Watson, Robert Jones and Hason Ward.
