Iowa State men's basketball lands commitment from 2024 4-star small forward Dwayne Pierce

T.J Otzelberger added another piece to the Iowa State men’s basketball 2024 recruiting class, this time from 4-star small forward Dwayne Pierce. He announced his decision at halftime of the Christ the King vs. Stepinac game on Sunday in New York.

The 6-foot-5, 190 pound prospect out of Middle Village, N.Y., is listed as the No. 6 player in New York and the No. 104 player nationwide, according to 247Sports Composite.

Pierce’s final list of schools included Iowa State, Florida State, Memphis, Penn State and Seton Hall. He held additional offers from George Washington, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Rutgers and St. John’s.

The Cyclones were the most recent program to offer Pierce on Jan. 13, 2023.

Before Pierce’s commitment, Otzelberger’s 2024 class was ranked No. 4 in the nation. Pierce joins 4-star shooting guard Nojus Indrusaitis and 3-star, 7-foot center JT Rock as the three players committed to Iowa State. All three players have committed in the past month, with Indrusaitis being the first on Dec. 22, 2022 and Rock joining him on Jan. 4.
