Ira man killed in head-on crash in Scurry County crash

A crash north of Ira in Scurry County left one person dead and two others seriously injured on Monday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators believe 24-year-old Seath Boyton of Ira was traveling south on FM 1609 when he traveled into the northbound lane where another vehicle was driving.

Both drivers tried to take evasive maneuvers, but both collided head-on.

According to DPS, Boyton was pronounced dead on the scene and two others were taken to the Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
