RACHELLE AKUFFO: Now the World Cup and politics. The US Men's soccer team is being singled out for altering the Iranian flag in a post on social media. What's it all about? Yahoo Finance's senior columnist Rick Newman has the details. Hey, Rick.

RICK NEWMAN: Hey, this is fun. So the US Men's National team posted that picture of the Iranian flag without the crest that represents the theocratic government of Iran. You can see the real flag there, and they posted it without that crest. If you take the crest out, that is the Iranian flag from before 1979 when the third-- the Iranian revolution happened, and the theocratic government came to power there.

So they're trolling this team, and these two teams are actually playing each other tomorrow. So this is sort of a version of two teams trash talking each other, except it has geopolitical implications. And Iran has fired back and said that the United States doing that is a violation of the Soccer Federation's rules and that the Soccer Federation should kick the United States out of the World Cup. Fighting words going both ways.

RACHELLE AKUFFO: Indeed. Certainly a lot at stake here. If you think it's just a simple football match, certainly not the case. All right. Thank you, Rick Newman.
