Russia is conducting drone reconnaissance operations in the south of Ukraine, probably searching for new targets of a mass drone or missile strike, Ukraine’s South Operational Command spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk said on national television on June 25.

"The russians are carrying out reconnaissance,” Humeniuk said.

“They are likely to have received a new batch of Shahed drones from Iran. Therefore, a new mass attack may be expected in the coming days."

Russians often “compensate” for their failures in the frontline with drone and missile attacks on civilians, presenting them as a "gain" in propaganda news, Humeniuk added.

"There are currently six warships deployed in the Black Sea, including one submarine missile carrier,” she said. “(Subsurface missile launches) make air defence work harder, but not impossible. (The Russians have) four Kalibr (cruise) missiles ready to be used."

Other enemy missile carriers have been returned to the Black Sea ports, in particular due to a storm that is soon expected to arrive in the area.

During the last air attack on Ukraine overnight on June 24, Ukrainian air defenses downed all 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, one Kalibr cruise missile and two Shahed-136/131 attack drones launched by Russia.
