Iredell Schools Report More Than A Dozen COVID-19 Cases In 2 Days
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — In the two days of this shortened holiday school week, Iredell-Statesville Schools reported 13 people tested positive for COVID-19 at 10 schools and one school district administrative office. The cases up the school district's tally of positive coronavirus cases in November to 54.
Since August, at least 438 school district employees — or about 17 percent of its workforce — have been quarantined for COVID-19, and at least 95 positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed among school district faculty or staff, ISS said.

The school district reports weekly the number of COVID-19 cases present in its schools, however, does not indicate if the cases are of students, teachers or staff.
As of Nov. 24, the number of COVID-19 cases in Iredell County rose to 5,478, which included an increase of 98 cases reported in the county in the span of one day. At least 61 deaths have been attributed to coronavirus in Iredell County since late March.
As of Tuesday, Iredell County Health Department said 26 county residents remained hospitalized for COVID-19 illness.
North Carolina reported 342,294 confirmed coronavirus cases in the state Tuesday, which included 3,100 newly confirmed cases in the state since Monday, according to data released Nov. 16 by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
