Arnold Schwarzen-Egger? Grocery Store Workers Star in Spoof Action Movie About Egg Shortages During Pandemic

A supermarket in County Louth, Ireland, produced a hilarious video on April 28, dramatizing the extreme lengths the store went to to secure eggs for their customers as an outbreak of bird flu and increased demand has led to a shortage.

In the second action-movie-style video released by SuperValu Fairways of Dundalk (see the first here), the store manager, Brian Treanor, takes on the role of a violent criminal. When faced with a life or death situation, duty manager Ciaran Parkin tells Treanor that he can secure a supply of “top quality eggs,” but all doesn’t go according to plan.

The video ends with Treanor entering the SuperValu Fairways store with stacks of eggs saying: “If you need eggs, and no other supermarket can help, call in to SuperValu Fairways, Dundalk.”
