Regularly $599.99, it's currently discounted to $549.99 at Bed, Bath & Beyond, an 8% markdown. (Also worth noting: the iRobot Roomba i3+ 3556, an exclusive model with the same performance features as the Roomba i3+ 3550 seen here, is available at Sam's Club for members at $499.98.)
We loved the Roomba i3+—a.k.a. the best-valued machine in our roundup of the Best Roombas of 2021—for its top-notch performance when picking up dirt and even pet hair. In our controlled tests, we found that this little beauty sucked up about 11 grams of dirt per run, ranking among the top 10% of all robot vacuums we've ever tested to date. It also did an amazing job with pet hair, keeping brushes free from tangles and fur clogs. Reviewed's senior manager of lab operations, Jon Chan, called the i3+ a "top-notch robot vacuum."
In fact, the only Roomba to top it was its upgraded (and more expensive) cousin, the Roomba i7+ (currently on sale at Amazon for $794.99). Both machines share self-emptying technology thanks to their automatic dirt disposal docks, which our reviewers appreciated that you never have to dump out the bin and get your hands dirty. The i3+ doesn't have the i7+'s smart navigation capabilities, however, which allow you put up virtual barriers and clean by specific zones or rooms.
Like other iRobot Roomba vacuums, the i3+ can map your home after a few cleaning runs. While our tester noted that its navigation wasn't flawless, leaving some uncleaned areas in testing (particularly as far as edges are concerned), it did a decent job maneuvering around "tight furniture legs, shelves, risers and carpets."
It also works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control, so you can simply say "Alexa, tell Roomba to vacuum the living room," and it will dutifully begin the job. The intuitive iRobot Home app, meanwhile, lets you start and stop a clean from your phone, set scheduled cleans and see cleaning reports.
Close to 7,000 Amazon customers have also given this robot vacuum a solid 4.5 stars, lauding its thorough cleaning via its parallel cleaning patterns.
If you have been mulling getting a robot vacuum over, you can't go wrong with the Roomba i3+. Its exceptional overall cleaning power and self-emptying feature make it "the ideal robot vacuum for the person who wants their home vacuumed once a day with minimal effort"—and now's the time to buy.
