Iron Hill Center City Offering DIY Meal Kits, Grocery Bundles

PHILADELPHIA — Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in Center City Philadelphia is offering grocery bundles and craft meal kits in addition to its food and drink options available during the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak.

The restaurant and brewery modified its business model, and added items to its existing list of paired down fresh prepared menu and craft beer offerings to include grocery bundles and craft meal kits.

"Craft Market" grocery bundles and "Craft Kits" are make-at-home meal kits.

These kits include everything needed to prepare a DIY steak dinner, pizza for four, and burger and chicken sandwich meals.

The Craft Market grocery bundles include in-demand groceries that may be scarce in certain regions or grocery stores, such as 30 eggs, two pounds of butter, one gallon of whole milk, and an assortment of fresh fruit and vegetables. Groceries are also available a la carte for those who may not need larger quantities.

Other a la carte items include toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, and an assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products.

Craft Market grocery bundles must be ordered 24 hours in advance. They are available daily for curbside pickup and takeout.

"There’s no denying this situation has affected everyone," Iron Hill CEO Kim Boerema said. "We created a way to be able to help support our guests, our employees and now even our suppliers as they are also feeling the devastating financial effects this unfortunate situation put us all in. These offerings allow us to keep people employed, help our guests who are unable to or may not be comfortable with going to the grocery store to get the essentials , and the people who regularly deliver our restaurants food so we could create great dining experiences. We’re all still trying to do this – just in a very unique and different way. So many in our industry are struggling and it’s important now more than ever to support the community as a whole."

Iron Hill Center City is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Also available for order are growlers of signature and seasonal beers, as well as seasonal canned beer four-packs, for takeout. During Growler Hours — 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday through Sunday — guests can take advantage of half-priced growlers and $5 off four-pack cans.

Iron Hill has also expanded its delivery options, offering fresh prepared meals via delivery, and hope to be able to offer the meal kits and grocery items via delivery services in the near future.
