IRS moves 2021 tax deadline to May 17

The IRS is planning to postpone its customary April 15 tax filing deadline until May 17 due to the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic for taxpayers and the IRS. CBSN's Tanya Rivero has the details.

The IRS is pushing back this year's tax deadline. The IRS will give filers a little more than a month extra, until May 17th, to give both the agency and taxpayers more time to process all tax returns. Last year's tax deadline was pushed back to July. The IRS says it is still processing some of those returns.
