'An isolated incident': Jacksonville man charged with manslaughter after fatal shooting

Jacksonville police discovered a fatal shooting Sunday night when they responded to a domestic disturbance call on Rochester Road SE, according to Chief Marcus Wood.

When officers responded to the call at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. They provided first aid until paramedics arrived, but Trenton Medders, 25, of Ohatchee, succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

During their investigation, officers identified a suspect and took Justin Racca, 25, of Jacksonville into custody. He has been charged with manslaughter; bond has not been set.

“This is an isolated incident; there is no imminent danger to the public,” Wood said.
